Bakersfield native Rob Purdie was diagnosed with disseminated Valley Fever in 2012 and has become a leading advocate for Valley Fever awareness. He shares his insights at workshops, conferences, and with the media; contributing interviews, op-eds and articles. A sought-after speaker, Rob actively supports legislative efforts for Valley Fever research, education and awareness. Since 2019, he has served as the Patient & Program Development Coordinator at the Valley Fever Institute, expanding awareness and helping improving care. Rob currently leads initiatives at the Institute to educate the public and those most at risk about Valley Fever and Antimicrobial Resistance.
